Vancouver

The BUNKA International Exchange Organization is located in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. In addition to being the largest city in Western Canada, Vancouver is surrounded by stunning ocean and mountain views. Rated as one of the most desirable places to live in the world, Vancouver provides visitors with a variety of year round activities. Participants can enjoy skiing and snowboarding in the winter months while hiking and beach activities are popular in the spring and summer. Shopping, sporting events and theatre outings are also favourite pastimes for any season. Although our head office is in downtown Vancouver, our programs are offered throughout the Vancouver and lower mainland areas. We host programs, events and activities in: Vancouver, North Vancouver, White Rock, Victoria, and Whistler.

North Vancouver

Just a short drive from the downtown core, North Vancouver is a lovely community surrounded by natural scenery. In addition to being an area abundant with outdoor activities, many of our host families are located in North Vancouver. During the spring and summer months, we organize guided hiking trips through Lynn Canyon and visits to the Capilano Suspension Bridge. Public transit to Vancouver and surrounding areas is easily accessible to participants from host family residences. (North Vancouver is approximately 8 kilometers north of downtown Vancouver)

White Rock

White Rock is a family oriented beach community just outside of Vancouver. Located near the United States border, White Rock is in close proximity to many of our program activities and excursions. The majority of our group programs are based in this area. We have been working with host families in White Rock since 1999 and have developed a strong relationship with the community. Public transit to Vancouver and surrounding areas is easily accessible to all participants from host family residences. (Approximately 45 minutes to Vancouver)

Victoria

Victoria is British Columbia’s capital city and is located on Vancouver Island. The Island is a short distance from Vancouver by ferry or plane. Sightseeing excursions to Victoria are often included in our programs. During the summer months, we will organize guided trips to the famous Butchart Gardens. Please talk to a BUNKA representative if you are interested in visiting Vancouver Island. 

Whistler

A 2 hour drive from Vancouver, Whistler is a world class mountain resort. Famous for skiing and snowboarding, it is also the site of the 2010 Olympics. Whistler has developed a reputation for being a popular year round destination with summer activities such as: golf, hiking, mountain biking, and whitewater rafting. We will organize ski packages, guided tours and accommodations in Whistler upon request.
